
The National Museum of Ireland provisionally agrees to archive and preserve the Hirschfeld Centre Oral History Archive at the conclusion of the research project, Waking the Hirschfeld, undertaken by Prof Pramaggiore and Dr Kerrigan. The estimated completion date is 2023.
At that time, data will be transferred to the sole possession of the NMI.
Because the National Museum of Ireland is governed by the National Archives Act of 1986, its archives are preserved and made available to the public for research Once accessioned into the archive of the NMI, these oral histories become part of the national public record and will be preserved for future generations.
